We Value Your Feedback:
After each session, please take a few minutes to complete the following survey. Your honest responses will help us tailor future sessions to better meet your needs. You can find the survey by clicking here: https://forms.gle/nDjRw1Xgpe1FGfgZ8
Please consider the following as daily practices:
- A mindfulness practice that helps you regulate your nervous system and feel more calm, even in the face of constant stressors. It’s helpful to think that meditation is simply reminding ourselves repeatedly of our true, benevolent nature and then carrying that quality into the world around us. (I recommend any of the following apps: Headspace, Calm, 10% Happier.)
- “Energy” practices that will also help you in times of acute stress. I recommend this 5-minute video.
- A “process commitment” – this is (at least) one thing you do every day to help your partner feel that you are “there” for them. Often my clients choose to share AFNA: Appreciations, Feelings, Needs, and Apologies/Amends (if needed).
Session Preparation:
To deepen our discussions and make the most of our time together, we encourage you to read Stacey Curnow’s bestselling book, “Repair Your Relationships: Reset, Reconnect, and Enjoy Your Most Important Relationships.“
Reading Schedule:
- Before the first session, please read the introduction and Chapter 1.
- Before the third session, familiarize yourself with Chapter 2.
- Continue this pattern, reading the next chapter before every third session, as we’ll be dedicating two sessions to discuss each chapter.
Why Read the Book: The book’s insights will provide a valuable foundation for our discussions, and delving into the chapters beforehand will enrich our exploration of key relationship topics. We believe this preparation will contribute to a more meaningful and insightful experience for everyone.
Session Overview: During our sessions, we’ll kick off with a relationship check-in, followed by a 20-minute deep dive into the book’s selected topics. The remainder will be dedicated to addressing specific issues with one couple, all within a voluntary and pressure-free environment.
Session Resources and Participation: For additional resources and to enhance your understanding of the session topics, we encourage you to download and complete the following materials. Completing these materials in advance will not only enhance your understanding but also contribute to the overall effectiveness of the group sessions.
