Stacey Curnow

(she/her/hers), Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor - Focusing on Couples, Families, and Individuals

My focus is exclusively on Couples, Family, and Individual Counseling Intensives. This shift has allowed me to offer deeper, more immersive support to clients who are truly ready for meaningful transformation. I’m so excited about the healing that’s possible in this work. You can learn more under the Services tab.

I specialize in repairing relationships and healing attachment trauma.

If you’re navigating a painful disconnect in your most important relationship, or you’re carrying wounds from early attachment ruptures that still echo in your present life, you’re not alone.

You may be the one holding everything together, or the one feeling like it’s all falling apart. You might be wondering how things got so hard, or if they’ll ever feel good again. Whether you’ve tried therapy before or this is your first time reaching out, a part of you knows it’s time for a different kind of support.

That’s where I come in.

Before becoming a counselor, I worked as a nurse-midwife for 20 years. Helping families through birth was an incredible honor, and over time I realized I felt most called to support the relationships that came after—the ones being stretched and reshaped by love, loss, transition, and growth. I now think of counseling as a kind of midwifery too.

I walk alongside people as they navigate change, uncertainty, pain, and grief, supporting them as they create something new and meaningful in their lives.

My approach is grounded in Attachment Theory, Internal Family Systems, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care. I also draw deeply from Dr. Ross Greene’s Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) model, which I’m certified in.

Whether I’m supporting partners, families, or individuals, I believe that people are doing the best they can with the nervous system, tools, and resources they have.

Very often, we’re playing out the invisible scripts we were handed as young children—patterns that were never consciously chosen, just learned. And because nothing different was ever modeled for us, we don’t know how to do it another way. I can help you uncover those old patterns that no longer serve you, and gently show you how to create new ones rooted in choice, safety, and connection.

I see even the most concerning behaviors as messages to understand. With the right support, you can heal, learn new ways of relating, and move toward a more grounded and joyful life.

In addition to my clinical work, I’m the author of five books, two of which come directly from my experience as a counselor. Repair Your Relationships: Reset, Reconnect, and Enjoy Your Most Important Relationships is a guide for those who are ready to move beyond painful patterns and find their way back to connection.

The PDA Kid Solution: A Compassionate Guide to Parenting Kids with Concerning Behaviors offers a practical path for parents raising children with a Pathological Demand Avoidance profile.

These books were written from the front lines of my work with real people, and they hold so much of what I’ve learned about how to build strong connections even through the most rocky terrain.

As a white, straight, affluent, able-bodied, cisgender woman, I work actively to create a space that is affirming, inclusive, and deeply respectful of all identities. I seek out training and supervision to understand the impact of systems of oppression and to repair the harm I may unintentionally cause. I welcome all of you.

When you’re working with me, you’ll feel seen, heard, and valued for exactly who you are. If you’re ready to begin, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.
