Helping You Feel Seen, Loved, and Valued—Exactly as You Are
For as long as I can remember, I felt like an outsider—unseen and unloved unless I met others’ expectations and prioritized their needs over my own. This conditioning, combined with being autistic, shaped how I moved through the world—longing for connection but also feeling lost and alone, as if no one really wanted to find me.
But in many ways, these early experiences became a gift. I learned to observe closely, to see others’ unique pain, and to recognize the patterns that keep people trapped in cycles of longing for connection while fearing to reach for it.
I know how painful it is to feel unseen, to believe that love and belonging are conditional. And I also know, from both personal experience and years of clinical work, that this is not the truth.
The truth is, you are worthy of love and connection simply because you exist. But if you’ve spent a lifetime believing that you have to perform, please, or shrink yourself to be accepted, then it’s nearly impossible to trust in this truth.
That’s where I come in.
My approach to counseling isn’t just about insight—it’s about relationship. In our work together, you’ll have a space where your needs are truly seen and validated, where you can experience what it’s like to be valued for exactly who you are. And from that place, you’ll learn to express your needs in a way that makes it more likely for them to be met.
I work with individuals, couples, and families who feel stuck in frustrating, disconnected cycles—repeating the same conflicts, feeling unheard and unseen, and struggling to break free from patterns that no longer serve them.
I’ll help you untangle these dynamics so you can build relationships rooted in true understanding and connection. By working together you’ll become more attuned not only to your own needs but also to the needs of the people you care about most.
No longer will you be trapped in a place where reaching for connection only confirms your deepest fear—that you are unworthy. Instead, you’ll step into a world where you know, without question, that you are valuable and lovable, just as you are.
And as you transform, so will your relationships, creating a ripple effect where everyone in your life feels more seen, loved, and valued.

Or maybe you’re in a period of transition, navigating a new way of being in your relationship. Whether you’re adjusting to changes in your family dynamic, career shifts, or other life transitions, you may find yourself struggling to find your footing.

Unlocking Deeper Understanding and Connection
If you’ve previously sought counseling and felt frustrated with the slow progress, struggling to gain traction, and make the necessary changes to achieve your desired outcomes, the Counseling Intensive is the perfect solution for you. Traditional weekly counseling sessions will not provide the intensity or focus needed to address deep-seated issues quickly.
The Counseling Intensive offers a concentrated and immersive experience, allowing you to dive deep into your relationship dynamics and work through challenges in a condensed time frame. With extended sessions over three days, you’ll have the opportunity to make significant strides forward in a short period.
Rather than feeling stuck in a cycle of negativity, the Intensive approach provides a catalyst for transformation. You’ll receive personalized attention and support from Stacey, enabling you to heal attachment trauma, enhancing compassionate communication, and increasing loving and joyful connection, and create lasting positive change in your relationship.
The Intensive is meticulously crafted to accelerate and enhance desired outcomes, including:
- Understanding Each Other Better: Cultivate a more profound connection by acquiring a deep understanding of how attachment trauma impacts you and and your relationship.
- Effective Communication: Learn compassionate communication skills for authentic expression and open dialogue.
- Collaborative and Proactive Problem Solving: Work together to create a foundation for sustained growth and harmony.
A Deep Dive into Your Personal Strengths and Less-Grounded Traits
To further enrich your experience, we’ll explore personality assessments such as the Enneagram. You’ll uncover and leverage your unique strengths, gaining insights into personal attributes that contribute to your relationship.
Understanding your Enneagram type also empowers you to navigate obstacles gracefully, preventing less-grounded traits from hindering your success.
What Couples Are Saying About The Counseling Intensive:
“I cannot express enough gratitude for the Counseling Intensive. Stacey, you blew our minds! The weekend spent with you was nothing short of transformative for our relationship. We feel incredibly fortunate to have found you.
Your guidance and expertise have helped us navigate through our challenges with clarity and understanding. The profound insights you offered were invaluable, nudging us gently towards a deeper understanding and connection.
After our weekend with you, we followed your recommendation and incorporated a “process commitment” into our daily routine. This morning, we started our day with meditation, and then a walk around the pond. This was meant to be a short stroll, but it turned into an hour-long journey filled with meaningful conversation and reflection.
Stacey, your approach is truly powerful, and the impact you’ve had on us is immeasurable. Thank you for helping us rediscover the strength and beauty in our relationship. We are forever grateful.”
The Intensive Experience
We’ll kick-start your transformative journey with a “Pre-Intensive.” As part of this experience, you’ll receive a 50-page workbook. This workbook is a crucial component of our preparatory process and is designed to enhance the effectiveness of our sessions. It contains tailored questionnaires to clarify your goals and aspirations. You’ll gain access to many valuable resources focused on skyrocketing your results.
The Intensive is also complemented by Stacey’s bestselling book, Repair Your Relationships: Reset, Reconnect, and Enjoy Your Most Important Relationships, and its accompanying Guided Journal.
The schedule includes hour-long individual sessions, followed by a 2-hour couples session, repeated over three immersive days. The Intensive also includes a 90-minute Post-Intensive Session to debrief the experience and reflect on areas of insight, relief, and transformation.
So, a couple’s intensive would offer over 20 program hours, 14 face-to-face hours, resources, assessments, & personalized treatment workbook, and weekday and weekend availability.
During the 90-minute Post-Intensive, we’ll engage in a comprehensive discussion about the subsequent phases of your journey towards ongoing growth and healing. This allows valuable time and space for crucial integration, enabling you to assimilate and apply the insights gained during the Intensive, fostering a more profound and lasting transformation. This Post-Intensive also ensures that you receive continuous support and guidance beyond the Intensive, prioritizing your sustained well-being and progress.
There’s also the option of “Mini-Intensives” to address any challenges that may arise in the future, providing tailored assistance when needed.
Want to Know Exactly How Real Couples Are Benefiting from the Intensive?
I’ve worked with many couples, and the work is almost always the same—we delve into the complex interplay between their current struggles and past wounds, much like noticing how a stone that strikes the surface of a pond creates far-reaching ripples.
I’ve now written about a few of these experiences in my blog, and you can read about them here, here, and here.
Discover What a Wall Street Journal Investigation Revealed About Counseling Intensives
Investigative journalist John Koten names the experience “high-impact therapy” and argues that it offers a more structured and effective approach (compared to “traditional” weekly or bi-weekly 50-minute sessions) to addressing relationship issues such as disillusionment, betrayals, and loss of connection. He cites that many couples report profound and rapid progress with the Intensive model. He concludes that this method provides a valuable alternative for couples seeking concentrated time to work on their relationship.

Investment in Your Relationship
Recognizing the significance of your commitment, this Intensive reflects a tailored approach, personalized attention, and transformative potential. Intensives give you the results you would get from months of counseling in a weekend. If you add up the cost of weekly counseling, an Intensive is actually much more cost effective. Instead of waiting months, you can get desired results in a few days. Your investment promises a journey towards renewed connection and understanding!

Counseling Intensive FAQs
Who can benefit from Counseling Intensives?
Counseling Intensives offer an ideal solution for those seeking swift and profound personal growth and transformation in their most important relationships. If you’re ready to catalyze change in your life and relationships, a Counseling Intensive provides a compelling option. Tailored to your specific needs and objectives, this accelerated counseling format enables clients to delve deeper and achieve desired results more rapidly.
Instead of the traditional weekly or bi-weekly 50-minute sessions over an extended period, a Counseling Intensive condenses the process into three dedicated days. This innovative approach streamlines the path to enduring transformation, eliminating the need for recurrent counseling appointments. Many liken the experience to a retreat, affording the opportunity to disconnect from daily obligations and fully immerse themselves in healing, self-reflection, and reconnection.
Why should I do a Counseling Intensive instead of a normal 50-minute counseling session?
A Counseling Intensive offers a more impactful and efficient alternative to traditional 50-minute counseling sessions. In a typical 50-minute session, valuable time is consumed by initial check-ins and closing discussions, leaving only around 30-40 minutes for substantial therapeutic exploration. In contrast, with 3 days of 4-hour intensive counseling sessions, you’re looking at a total of 12 hours of intensive counseling.
Considering a typical schedule of bi-weekly counseling sessions, which amounts to one session every two weeks, 3 days of 4-hour intensive counseling would be the equivalent of six months of bi-weekly counseling sessions! The Intensive experience truly allows for a concentrated focus on life-changing work, providing substantial progress and insights over a very short period of time.
How many Intensive Days should I schedule?
The number of Intensive Days depends on your specific goals for the Counseling Intensive. If we’re just starting our therapeutic journey together, I typically suggest a 3-Day Intensive to allow for comprehensive exploration and progress. However, if we’ve already begun our work together and you have specific, well-defined goals, it’s possible to achieve them within a shorter timeframe, such as a 1-Day Intensive spanning 4 hours. I’m here to assist you in determining the optimal number of days that align with your objectives and facilitate meaningful progress.
If I already have a primary counselor, can I do an Intensive as an adjunct to my current counseling?
Absolutely, you can certainly do a Counseling Intensive as an adjunct to your ongoing counseling with your primary counselor. In fact, it often complements your regular counseling sessions quite effectively, especially when you encounter specific challenges or feel particularly stuck in your progress.
Numerous counselors highly recommend their clients engage in Intensives with me for precisely this purpose. To guarantee smooth collaboration and coordination between myself and your current counselor, I kindly request that you sign a Release of Information. This ensures that we can work together seamlessly to maximize the effectiveness of your therapeutic journey.
Can my insurance help pay for Counseling Intensives?
Unfortunately, Counseling Intensives are typically not covered by insurance for a variety of reasons. Firstly, insurance companies often have strict criteria for reimbursable services, and the non-traditional format of Intensives do not meet these criteria. Additionally, the duration of Intensives, with longer sessions over a shorter period, do not align with insurance policies designed for shorter, weekly sessions. Furthermore, there are limitations on the types of counseling covered by insurance, and Intensives fall outside of these covered categories. Finally, the highly customized nature of Intensives can also pose challenges for insurance companies in standardizing reimbursement criteria. These factors collectively contribute to the unfortunate reality that insurance does not cover Counseling Intensives.
How much does a Counseling Intensive cost?
The cost of a Counseling Intensive varies depending on factors such as the number of days and the number of individuals participating. Each Intensive is meticulously crafted to ensure a unique and transformative experience. As we consider the possibility of embarking on this journey together, it’s crucial to recognize that it entails not only a significant investment of time but also a commitment of financial resources.
Allow me to share a story that may resonate with you – the tale of Picasso and the napkin. Legend has it that Picasso, when asked to sketch on a paper napkin, requested a million Francs in return. Perplexed by the seemingly high price for a drawing that took mere minutes, the admirer questioned the value. Picasso’s response was profound: “My dear, it took me a lifetime to be able to draw this sketch.” He wasn’t merely seeking compensation for the act; he sought recognition for the years of study, practice, and mastery that led to his ability to create a work of art swiftly.
I approach our work with the same dedication that Picasso brought to his art. The investment in the Intensive reflects not only the time spent during those days but also acknowledges the cumulative experience, expertise, and commitment I bring to our sessions. I am confident that, much like Picasso, I can help transform your relationship into a work of art once again.
When are payments due? Do you offer refunds?
Upon booking your session, a non-refundable deposit is due to secure your spot. To accommodate your budgeting needs, I can often offer flexible payment plans. The remaining balance is then due at least 2 weeks prior to the first day of your Intensive Session.
While I am able to reschedule your Intensive with at least 2 weeks’ notice, please note that all payments are non-refundable. This policy is in place due to the highly personalized and unique nature of the Counseling Intensive, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately to meet your specific therapeutic goals while also respecting the investment of my time and energy.
